There are many reasons to be embarassed about liking the Newsies. For starters, it's been universally panned by critics and moviegoers alike. It's Disney's worst bomb, second only to Howard the Duck, extracting god-awful performances from most of it's adult actors, including Robert fucking Duvall, denounced by even it's star, Christian Bale. So why would anyone like it?

Let's look at the facts:
1) It stars the afformentioned and albeit reluctant Christian Bale.
2) It's about the Newsboy strike of 1899 which is, you know, hystorical.
3) The songs are, as the Disney label would have you know, catchy as motherfucking hell. (and hell's pretty catchy.)
4) The accents. OH JESUS THE ACCENTS.
5) These kids are manly.
6) Batman is a delightfully horrible singer (see above.)
7) Three words: Singing. Homeless. Children.
Why else do you think it has one of the highest rankings on fanfiction.net's movie section?

I totally agree I LOVE this movie , PS i own it! One of my favorites growing up and Christian Bale is wonderful in this movie !
